European Academy of Wind Energy

The European Academy of Wind Energy (EAWE) was founded in October 2003 in Delft. This world-wide unique competence network in the field of wind energy research is an association of the leading European R&D institutes in this area as well as of the respective universities which are closely connected with the institutes. The Wind Academy started its scientific activities by organising the European special-topic conference "The Science of making Torque from Wind", April 2004 in Delft. The goal of the research institutes and universities from Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Greece is a better co-ordination of research and teaching in the European research area and the intention to act jointly on the research and education market. By the joint training of Ph.D. students, exchange of specialised staff, international training measures and joint research projects, this network will contribute to further enhance the top position of the European wind energy technology on the world market for wind energy technology.

AML Applied Mechanics Laboratory Dept. Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautics of University of Patras

AML/UP deals mainly with the general field of MATERIALS & STRUCTURES giving emphasis on the science, technology and applications of composite materials (organic, ceramic and metal matrix), monolithic ceramics and plastics.

CRES Center for Renewable Energy Sources

The CRES is the Greek national centre for Renewable Energy Sources (RES), Rational Use of Energy (RUE) and Energy Saving (ES). Its main goal is the promotion of RES/RUE/ES applications at a national and international level, as well as the support of related activities taking into consideration the environmental impacts, on energy supply and use.

DHI Water & Environment

DHI Water & Environment is an independent research and consultancy organisation, formed by merging Danish Hydraulic Institute, VKI - Institute for the Water Environment and Danish Toxicology Centre.

DTU Technical University of Denmark

In the beginning most of the research was focussed on basic unsolved engineering problems related to aerodynamics, structural mechanics and safety. Today, research and education in wind energy are focussed on aerodynamics, aero-elasticity, aero-acoustics, stochastic modelling, wind power prediction and power electronics.

DUWIND Wind energy research at Delft University of Technology

The section Wind Energy is responsible for the wind energy projects of the Delft interfaculty research cluster (DIOC) Renewable Energy. Within the newly established interfaculty research institute DUWind the section cooperates as well with sections of other faculties of TU Delft.

ECN Energy research Centre of the Netherlands

The research centre carries out research in the field of energy. With this work the researchers move between fundamental research at universities and appliance of knowledge and technologies in practice.

RISØ Wind Energy Department
